Lecturer of European policy

As a lecturer in European policy your responsibilities include:
Teaching students to prepare for knowledge examinations in the field of European policy and coaching students in carrying out (practical) tasks related to European policy (for example the write up of an Interreg project proposal, a position statement, peer learning review of policy makers, etc.).
This implies:
- teaching students in the field of European policy (EU history, institutions, policy framework);
- coaching students to work together on (practical) tasks in the field of European policy (groups of approx. 4 students);
- assessing the student products (policy advice, proposals, presentations);
Other tasks can be discussed based on your expertise and experience, such as:
- Coaching and advising students during research projects, theses, and internships;
- Contributing to the curriculum development in the field of European policy, including assessment;
- Any other tasks that may fit your specific expertise/experience.
Profile:
As a candidate for this position you should have:
- demonstrable experience in teaching and assessment and/or professional experience in European policy;
- a certificate of pedagogic/didactic skills or the willingness to obtain one;
- demonstrable coaching skills;
- the skills to teach in an integrative whole-task approach;
- excellent communication skills in English, both oral and written;
- a relevant master’s degree or PhD;
- a team-player attitude and an entrepreneurial, customer-oriented, creative and enthusiastic mind-set;
- preferably intercultural experience (since we have an international classroom);
- the ability to work professionally with digital learning environments, blended learning and audio-visual material, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

- a temporary contract for 0.6 – 0.8 FTE until 1 September 2023 at Zuyd University of Applied Sciences with the possibility of an extension;
- a salary depending on your education and experience, maximum scale 11 CAO-HBO (maximum monthly gross salary € 5,332.48 on a full-time basis);
- for internal candidates with a permanent contract the standing contract will be respected.
