The String department of the Conservatorium Maastricht is looking to appoint inspiring and informed musicians who have an established an excellent artistic career and reputation in guiding young musicians of tomorrow towards realizing their musical aspirations.

CM attracts some of the most talented students and teachers from around the world and delivers an innovative curriculum and excellent student experience within some of the finest teaching, rehearsal and performance environment.
We are seeking to appoint a professional cellist and with an international reputation as a performer and teacher. Essential is a proven track record of having taught highly skilled cellists as they prepare to enter the music profession and international competitions. The ideal candidate will also possess teaching experience in higher music education and have had experience of delivering detailed technical foundation work in their teaching.
We are looking for an experienced and professional musician with a background in the field, a skilled communicator across cultures and driven personality who takes initiative, ownership and thinks creatively and solution-oriented.
Excellent English skills in listening/comprehension, speaking and writing are a must as the Conservatorium is a fully international institution.

Conservatorium Maastricht is part of the Faculty of Arts Maastricht of Zuyd University of Applied Sciences, which comprises the Academy of Performing Arts, i-Arts, Communication & Multimedia Design, Maastricht Fine Arts & Design and Architecture. With around forty Bachelor's and thirteen Master's programmes, 15,000 students and 1,700 staff, Zuyd University of Applied Sciences, is one of the biggest universities of applied sciences in the Netherlands. Its wide range of programmes offers countless opportunities for multidisciplinary collaboration.
An appointment of max 0,5 fte (depending of number of students) for a duration of 1 year with the Stichting Zuyd Hogeschool, with the prospect of a permanent appointment.

Depending on former education and experience, classification takes place in accordance with the CAO HBO within the career perspective of scale 12 (maximum € 5.433,82 gross per month for a full time appointment).
